He was born on June 14, 1930 to Pierre and Angèle (née Picton) and raised on a farm in Haywood, MB with his 12 siblings. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jeanne (née Rey). They celebrated 62 years of marriage on October 23, 2014. He leaves to mourn his sons, Guy, Hubert and Roger and his daughters, Nicole and Pauline (Maurice Lapointe). He will always be missed by his five grandchildren, Janelle (Richard), Daniel (Nicole), Shawna (Brad), Devin (Cory) and Blair; his seven great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jesse, Rylynn, Brenden, Breyelle, Avah and Leah. Also mourning his loss are his brothers, René, Charles (Madeleine) and Paul; his sisters, Justine Dheilly, Madeleine Pineau, Claire Fay, Suzanne (Louis Viallet) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughters Diane and Doris, his brothers, Pierre (Yvette), Joseph (Corinne) and Jean, his sisters, Léontine and Marie (Roland Gautron) and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. As a teen, Louis played baseball. He also liked to fish, play horseshoes, cribbage and curling. Later in life he liked doing crosswords and reading. He always enjoyed a visit from family. He kept us entertained with his wit, humour and his latest invention. Louis was a jack of all trades and especially liked to do carpentry. In 1951 he started working for his father at Dedieu Well Cribbing, digging wells and making concrete well cribbing. He took over the business in 1961. Thank you to Dr. Viens, his home care workers and Darlene. Special thank you to Dr. Kruk and staff at Carman Hospital for your care and compassion. A private service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
