Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET DOREEN PEEVER Peacefully on January 10, 2015 our mom Doreen passed away at Tuxedo Villa. She is survived by her children, Judy Hulkewych (Wally), Barry (Sue), Grant (Cindy), nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sisters-in-law Marion Peever and Marg Peever. She is predeceased by her husband Stewart, sister Norma, brother Ray and grandson Shane. Mom was born the middle child to Arthur and Peggy Nunn on February 13, 1923 in Winnipeg. Audrey suggested that Mom write her brother Stewart who was serving overseas in the Second World War. Stewart returned from war in 1945 and they married June 2, 1946. Mom and Dad moved into the their home on Bronx Ave. Once the children arrived, Mom was a homemaker and took pride in her cooking, sewing and knitting skills. She enjoyed many summers at the family campsites at West Hawk and Pyes Landing at Lake of the Woods. She also volunteered at the Bronx Park Community Centre for many years with Dad. After Dad's death in 1986, Mom moved and lived in apartments in E.K. and St. James, eventually residing at the Rosewood and then Tuxedo Villa. Mom spent three years residing in Tuxedo Villa where she received excellent care by all staff on Station 1 and was greatly appreciated by the family. Spending time with Doreen, was lots of fun, with large doses of chuckles. She helped set up for movie nights and other events, and loved to spend time with her good friend Dorothy Johnson. I always remember Doreen for her animal pals, loaded with batteries, and when she thought someone needed a "pick me up", she brought them to the person, turned them on and had a huge smile. I remember some very special moments and people at Kiwanis, and Doreen was one of them. My thoughts are with Doreen's family, and may you remember the good times. - Posted by: Colleen GrahamNorth (Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts programe coordinator, and friend .) on: Jan 18, 2015
