EDWARD LOCHERT May 3, 1946 - January 2015 It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the sudden passing of, Edward Lochert, early last week at his residence in St. Andrews, Manitoba, in his 68th year of life. Ed will be remembered by his children Dean (Cindy), Darryl, Sherry (Bill) of Ontario, Andrew of Alberta and Lynn of Winnipeg. Also survived by sister Irene; many nieces, nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat Shitsky. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary; sisters Rose and Mary; and brother Harold. Dad was born in Birds Hill, on May 3, 1946, and moved to St. Andrews to build and design a home. He always felt at peace on his little piece of heaven on his farm doing whatever chore needed to be done, fixing whatever needed to be fixed or just spending time planting flowers or working in his garden. He was hard working in all aspects of life, including working for over 15 years for the municipality of Springfield, and enjoying what he did. When dad retired a couple of years ago, he missed having to get up bright and early before the sun to get to work; and more and more things around the house seemed to be getting fixed without needing it. Dad you will be forever missed and forever in our hearts. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain to walk and guide us through our lives, dad until we meet again. Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
