AMANDA VARGEK 1980-2015 On January 14, 2015 the world became a dark place. We lost our beautiful, loving, funny, darling girl in a tragic car accident. Above all else, Amanda's greatest accomplishment and joy was her son Ben. She was an amazing mom and loved her boy fiercely and honestly. Ben will forever miss his mommy as will Amanda's brother Chris whose love and approval was so important to her and his lovely partner Danica, her best friend, compass and sister Sara and brother-in-law Sven who was her personality twin and her adoring mom Nancy Harrison who will never be the same again. Although we are the lucky ones for having known her, we are left behind with shattered hearts. We know there are many others who loved her and will miss her, there are just too many to list. Amanda was fabulous. She was so full of love, which she gave freely and without caution - something the rest of us could learn from her. She laughed easily and loudly and made everyone else laugh until they cried which she also did easily. She was perfectly imperfect. Amanda, looking back, the things that drove us the craziest in life are the things we will miss the most about you. We promise to keep you alive in our stories and hearts and make sure your Benny remembers. In lieu of sadness, please come help us celebrate Amanda's remarkable life on Tuesday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Instead of flowers, please contact a family member regarding trust contributions for Ben. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

  • My condolences go out to the family and in particular to her father JOHN who I grew up with in the North End. I had the privilege of meeting all the children, Amanda being the oldest Her loving father honored her as his first child by starting a home building business called Amanda Homes. He always spoke of her with great passion and Joy. Very saddened to hear of the loss in such a tragic way, she had so much life ahead of her. - Posted by: Kenneth Wayne Ryce (Friend) on: Sep 10, 2017

  • I lived with Amanda once. She was always there when I needed her most. She was probably one of the only people who really took time out of there day to make sure I was okay. I will never forget Amanda. I didn't know she died until one of Bens friends (amaya) who is my best friend told me last year. I cried I can't say that I didn't. But Amanda I will always love you. - Posted by: Angie fritsch (Niece ) on: May 24, 2016

  • I didn't work with Amanda for too long but in that time I went through a HUGE life change and the support she gave me was unbelievable, and actually helped me get through the worst time of my life. I will always be grateful to her for that! And I had the pleasure of meeting Ben, who was so polite and respectful! And there was no mistaking how much they loved each other. My heart breaks for him and his entire family. - Posted by: Stacey Klassen (Amanda's Co-Worker) on: Jan 29, 2015

  • You almost never had to physically see Amanda to know she was in your presence. Her spirit is one of the brightest I've ever known, and although we only knew each other a short time it was easy and very clear that she lived a life of genuine kindness and unconditional love for those she cared for. Amanda, you will be thought of often and missed always. Sending love and healing thoughts to Chris, Sara, Nancy and Ben. - Posted by: Jenna and Mitch (Friend of Nancy) on: Jan 25, 2015

  • Nancy My heart is with you at this sad time. I carry a newspaper clipping in my wallet that will apply to Amanda. I paraphrase. "She has achieved much who has lived well laughed often and loved much. Who has gained the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children. Who has looked for the best in others and given the best of herself. Who has left the world a little bit better whether by a healthy child a garden patch or a redeemed social condition." She filled the bill in those respects. I have had several beers in her memory and will think of her often. - Posted by: Rod and Pat Small (Friends) on: Jan 21, 2015

  • To Nancy, Chris, Sara and Ben, I'm sad to hear that Mandy was taken away from you so young and so tragically. I can recall meeting a very young, blond, sweet and loving child who became the strong, energetic woman that she is today. I also remember Grandma & Grandpa Dumaine and Uncle Mark speaking highly of Nancy and her children. My condolences to you for your loss. May you know that Mandy is in a better place now, but still where she will always be near to guide you from Heaven above. May she have eternal rest. My thoughts and prayers to you all during this very difficult time. Love Your Cousin, Monique M Ayotte (nee Gregoire) - Posted by: Monique Ayotte (Cousin) on: Jan 21, 2015

  • I was very saddened to hear the news about Amanda. Her and I volunteered together both in the classroom and on field trips when the boys were younger. Amanda always had a huge smile on her face and loved getting to know and help out the kids. She easily lifted spirits for all who were around her. I enjoyed talking with her when she came to the school to help out or pick up Ben. My deepest condolences go out to her family. - Posted by: Janet and Josh (Ben's friend) Rosin () on: Jan 20, 2015
