Sincere condolences to all the family. My memories of Soeur Lorette start in St Charles when she was visiting her mother - one of the neighbors. She and all in her family played an important role in my life. I know she will be missed but that there is another angel up above looking down on all of us. - Posted by: Ramona Crowther & Jack Kuhl (Family Friend) on: Jan 26, 2015

In July of 1966, I was working on a road construction crew west of Gravelbourg, Sasaktchewan. I was sitting on a tractor pulling a road packer when suddenly in front of me, there's a nun standing on the middle of the road, dressed in her black habits. It was Aunt Lorette who was vising from Winnipeg. I stopped the tractor, we chatted for a while, and I told her that I hated the job; that was going to quit. She encouraged me to hang in there, that it was just a summer job. She took a picture and left. At noon when we stopped for lunch, the other guys were all curious to know why a nun had stopped to talk to me. Here the next day the foreman approached me and asked if I'd be interested in operating the new bulldozer we had just received. It was an IHC TD-30. I was only 16 yrs of age, we had to be 18 to be an operator, but the foreman knew I had ran a lot of farm equipment. He gave me a fake ID and I was OK. One day one of the guys was upset because I had the new dozer, and he had an old Cat D-7. He asked the foreman why that was. The foreman, an old Scotchman, pointed to the sky and said, ''The nun must have put in a good word for him.'' Whether that was true or not, I never did find out. Nor was the topic ever discussed again. Aunt Lorette--we'll miss you!! Love, Johnny. - Posted by: John Hamon (Nephew) on: Jan 23, 2015

- Posted by: Eveline Hamon (Nièce) on: Jan 22, 2015
