Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBLANCHE SICOTTE 1921 - 2014 Our little Mom went peacefully back to the Father on December 4, 2014, at the age of 93. Born on April 25, 1921 in Lorette, MB, she was the beloved daughter of Eloria Normandeau and Sauveur Marcoux, and the eldest of seven children, two of whom passed away at a very early age. She was a studious and hardworking child, and finished her high school in Lorette before going to Montreal to prepare herself to teach home economics. Two years later, she came back to Manitoba and worked with her dear friend, Eliane Girard, teaching home economics in many small francophone villages in rural Manitoba. Eventually she went to work for the estate department of Revenue Canada in Winnipeg, where she met the man who would become her husband: Conrad Sicotte. They were blessed with two daughters to whom they gave themselves totally. When the girls were older and in school, Mom did volunteer work in St. Boniface Hospital. Later she was one of the persons responsible for the clothing bank of her parish. She would organize a huge bazaar every year to collect funds to meet the needs of the families coming to the clothing bank. She eventually discovered the Charismatic Renewal which touched her very deeply and she became part of the core group. Mom and Dad travelled quite a bit and also went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. At the end of every summer they would go to Quebec to visit their two daughters who now lived over there, as well as their two grandsons who were their pride and joy. For 17 years after Dad retired, they spent winter in Texas and Mom was able to spend some of her time painting. During all those years, she cared for elderly women who lived alone and took care of many of their needs, often helped by Dad. In 2001, after the death of her husband, Mom moved to Montreal to be near her daughters and grandsons. She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, Nicole and Colette, her grandsons, Benoît and François, one bother, Lucien Marcoux (Thérèse) two sisters- in- law, Marcelle Marcoux and Jeanne Marcoux, two brothers-in-law, Victor Joubert and Jules Sicotte (Rae), as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. The funeral was celebrated in Montreal on December 16, 2014. A commemorative mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Precious Blood Church in St. Boniface, followed by the laying to rest of the ashes in the cemetery on Archibald Street.

- Posted by: Daniel Lucien Marcoux (Neveu) on: Jan 27, 2023

It's a comfort to hear my mother's name mentioned in your mother's obituary. Elie-Anne passed away in 61 and she has been missed dearly, reading about her friend Blanche and the wonderful life she lived is a balm on the soul. - Posted by: Monique Arbez (Daughter of Elie-Anne Girard) on: Jan 23, 2015
