FAY ELAINE REID (nee WYATT) June 29, 1939 - January 26, 2015 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Fay passed away on Monday, January 26, at the age of 75, at Poseidon Personal Care Home with family at her side. Left to mourn her passing are her children: Sheri Armour (Brian Mashinter), Brad Reid (Laurie Fosty), and Jill Reid-Hodgert; her grandchildren: Craig Armour (Jessie Hollosy), Bryce Armour, (and their father, Glen), Kassidy Reid (and her mother, Lisa), Ainsley Hodgert, Jackson Hodgert (and their father, Brian); Dia Nobiss and Khianna Fosty; sister, Sharon Mihalyk (Ray Mihalyk), brother, Reg Wyatt (Donna Wyatt) and life long friend, Mort Woolley. Aunt Joan Baxter, Aunt Edna Wyatt, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will also lovingly remember Fay. Fay was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Willis Wyatt, brother Keith Wyatt, and beloved husband, Alfred Reid. Fay was born in Hamiota, MB. As a child, she resided in Winnipeg, Oakbank, North Springfield and later, with her parents, she moved to Transcona. In 1955, as high school students in East St. Paul, Fay met Al and started dating. They married September 30, 1960 and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary shortly before Al's passing in October, 2000. In 1966, Fay and Al bought a home on Newman Ave., in Transcona, where they lived for over 30 years, enjoying many good times with neighbours, friends and family. Fay also cherished times spent at the family cottage at Hillside Beach. Before Al's passing in 2000, Fay and Al enjoyed the comraderie of friends at the Transcona Legion. Fay loved to have a good laugh, even if it was at her expense! But Fay's primary passion was spending time with her family - Sharon and Ray and Reg and Donna, her children and grandchildren. She relished in their achievements and their presence. She was also a fervent fan of football, baseball and especially, curling. Fay worked for the Royal Bank before the birth of her first child and then spent many years working alongside her brother, Reg, and family at Wyatt Insurance. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Poseidon Nursing Home, (3rd floor, East Wing) nurses and health care aides, for their care and kindness. Also a special thank-you is extended to friends and family who ensured that Fay was never alone in her final stage of life. For those wishing to make a donation in Fay's memory, please do so to a charity of your choice. As per Fay's wishes, immediate cremation was completed by Wheeler Funeral Home and a celebration of her life will take place at the Transcona Legion, 117 Regent Ave. West on Friday, January 30, 1:00 p.m.

  • I have lost touch with the Wyatt family over the last fifty years and was so saddened to learn of Faye's passing. I remember her parents and her brothers and sister from when they moved to North Springfield and we all went to school together. I can't believe how fast time flies and didn't realize that Al and Keith had also predeceased her. I have very fond memories of her bubbling personality and her smile. • Fay and I met in high school, where she and Al were two grades ahead of me. Al used to walk the four miles from Bird's Hill to Pine Ridge to see her and we used to double date as my boyfriend had a car! I was a bridesmaid at her wedding and she was matron of honour at mine. Although we moved far away and only saw one another on yearly visits back to Manitoba, in retirement years we have had good chats on the phone that I will miss. I will always remember that dark haired pretty girl with a ready smile who always made me feel special. - Posted by: Sharon Rogalsky (Cousin-in-law) on: Jan 29, 2015
