Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCUSTODIO CAETANO REIS May 13, 1949 - January 18, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of our loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, Custodio Caetano Reis. He passed away on Sunday, January 18 2015, at the age of 65, while on vacation with his wife in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. Left to honor his memory is his wife Mimi (Emilia) of 37 years, daughter Debby (Robert), sons Pedro (Natasha), and Marc (Jean), granddaughter Emily, brother Joaquim (Olinda), sisters Isilda and Lucilia, sisters in-law Adelia (Jose Maria) and Alda, nieces, nephews, many members of extended family, and many, many friends. Custodio was predeceased by his parents, Jose Francisco Reis and Maria do Carmo Caetano, sister Perpetua, and granddaughter Maria Preciosa. Custodio was born on May 13, 1949 in Moitas Venda, Portugal. He volunteered at the young age of 17 to join the army in Terceira Acores. He also served in the Air Force in Angola. In 1976 he immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada following the love of his life Mimi, where they were married and raised their family. He would do anything for his family. There was nothing they asked of him that was too big or too small. His granddaughter Emily brought such joy to his life. She was always trying to help Vovo in his garden. He worked various jobs throughout his life. His most recent job was with JC Paving, where he was loved and respected like family. He was extremely proud to be a member of the Portuguese War Veterans in Winnipeg, Director of the Nucleo Liga dos Combatentes de Portugal, and the Royal Military Institute of Manitoba. Custodio was a man of many talents. He would build and create anything he put his mind to. Whenever anyone needed help, Custodio was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved to talk and will always be remembered for his never ending stories. Papa we will never forget your encouraging smile. You will be forever in our hearts. Thank you for everything you did for us. We Love You. Vigil Prayers 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Sr. Custodio was a very good man, but a better father, husband and grandfather. I remember the smile he would give when he saw the kids from around the neighborhood playing on Yarwood. Also he would always ask how your family was doing, no matter how long he has seen them. He will be missed by all who knew him. Descansa em paz Sr. Custodio. - Posted by: Pedro Guilherme (Friend and former neighbour) on: Jan 30, 2015
