ROBERT (BOB) FOX March 7, 1922 - January 29, 2015 Bob passed away peacefully at the age of 92 after a short illness. He is survived by his sister Margaret, nephew Bill (Johanne), nieces Cathy (Randy), Lynda, and Pat, and many great nephews and nieces. Bob was lucky enough to find the love of his life three times in Vivian, Peggy, and Ginny, which have all predeceased him, as well as his brother Fred and his son Barry. Bob was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he learned to love and play sports such as golf and curling. He continued playing long into his life. During the war Bob flew Hawker Typhoons with 438 squadron completing 97 missions. After the war Bob worked for Ash Temple as a salesman for 38 years until retiring in 1987. That's when the travel bug really hit and he travelled to many of the worlds' greatest places. Bob enjoyed life as a snowbird, wintering in Mesa, AZ for many years. Bob's last eight years were spent at Dakota House where he enjoyed every single day. We would like to thank the staff at Victoria General Hospital, 5th floor for their caring work. The funeral is to be at the United Church in Meadowwood, 1111 Dakota St., February 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at Dakota House, 1145 Dakota St. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Victoria General Hospital.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Bob was my father-in-law for a short period while I was married to his son, Barry. Vivian was a wonderful mother and wife - and was another sister to me. Bob was a kind, quiet man always good to me as well. - Posted by: Patricia Hunter (Former daughter-in-law) on: Nov 09, 2023

  • Sorry for your loss. My father was Bruce Agnew and an aircraft mechanic in 438 squadron. He arrived at airfield B9 in France just outside of Creully in 1943. I have been looking for pictures of the airfield and squadron at that time to add to the commemorative presentation I did in his honor. I don't know if you kept any photos of his of that era of his life, but if so you could contact me at the email address I put with this message. Any input, photos or papers would be greatfully appreciated. Thank you. - Posted by: Greg Agnew () on: Nov 11, 2015
