EDITH KLASSEN It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Klassen on January 27, 2015, at the age of 84, at Eastview Place in Altona, MB. She is survived by her loving family, son Ronald, daughter Karen, grandchildren Amber West (John), Dustin Loeppky (Yui), great-grandchildren Hanna Loeppky and Benson West, brothers Eric Peter (Audrey), Helmut Peter (Kay), and sister Irma Carlson. Predeceased by husband John, parents Gustav and Olga Peter, sister Ursula Peter, and brothers Gary Peter and Kurt Peter. Mom and Dad were married on October 16, 1948. They shared 60 years together building a successful business and raising a family. They loved to travel and especially enjoyed winters in Arizona until my dad's health began to decline. Mom was a devoted and loving caregiver to Dad for many years until his passing in 2009. One of Mom's many talents was her artistic creativity. She was an excellent seamstress, knitter and quilter and there was always some sort of craft project on the go for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to tend her patch of unique lilies in the backyard. Mom loved the company of her dog Sheba and Ron's dog Casey. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Eastview Place for their kindness and care during the last year. A special thanks to the staff at Blueridge. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Church in Altona, MB. Donations in memory of Edith can be made to the Alzheimer Society, www.alzheimer.ca. Rest in peace Mom Arrangements by Wiebe Funeral Home Altona 204-324-5404 www.wiebefhaltona.com
