Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I lived with Frank in The Meadows in Edmonton for five years. I was very sad to learn of Franks passing. As I remember Franks illness I know that you are in a care free place now my friend. I remember learning of many things from Franks wisdom, but I always enjoyed Franks vast knowledge of the culinary arts. He treated me to many delightful dishes. He was a caring, humble man with so many life experiences. I miss our time together Frank as we had it so good in that house. God Bless You Frank. Keep an eye out for a brother, will you? Till we meet again, my friend...👍🏾🍷👍🏾 - Posted by: Chris Nyback (Friend/Roommate) on: Jul 23, 2015

  • I worked a clinic with Frank in the Flin Flon as well as a great 4 hour trip back to Thompson with me, so he could get back to Winnipeg a day sooner. Had a great discussion with and rapport with Frank. Frank was a great source of knowledge to a northern umpire, always ready to answer questions and offer opinions. - Posted by: Pat O'Callaghan (Fellow Blue (umpire for the unitiatied)) on: Feb 27, 2015

  • It was a real pleasure to have known Frank. He was a great guy and a very good friend. He is one of the most pleasant and positive individuals I have ever met. You will be missed my Friend....Ed H - Posted by: Ed Harasem (Fellow umpire and basketball official EBOA) on: Feb 07, 2015

  • I am saddened to read of Frank's passing. I have known him on the ball diamond for as long as I can remember and then as a basketball referee while I was at Basketball Manitoba. When I saw Frank show up as our umpire whether I was playing and then coaching, I was always happy to see him and glad he was on my diamond. He was a class act in the crazy world of sport. Rest in peace Frank, and I hope you are giving Bobby T the gears as we speak! - Posted by: Tracy Turner (Friend thru softball and basketball) on: Feb 07, 2015

  • My condolences to all the members of Frank`s family. To greet Frank at the gym or on the ball field was always a special and genuine experience. He carried himself with a sense of control and confidence and a look in his eye that seemed to express he knew something that the rest of us didn`t. His gentle and unassuming nature will be missed. Rest in Peace, my friend. - Posted by: Rick DeGagne (officiating colleague) on: Feb 05, 2015

  • Frank's generosity and kindness was seen and felt by all the lives that he touched. God surely has a special place reserved just for you Frank. I am thankful for all the memories, the soft conversation, and the many laughs we shared. RIP Frank, until we meet again. - Posted by: Debbra Jansz (Friend) on: Feb 03, 2015

  • Frank, I will never forget the laughs that we shared over the years. There just seemed to be a connection between us in my early days as an official and I will always cherish those times we had together. Although we hadn't seen each other in quite some time lately, those memories kept you nearby. My condolences to your family and all the friends you made along the way. Somewhere, somehow, you are working that basketball or baseball game that needs "one of the good guys in charge". Rest in peace my friend. You made a difference! - Posted by: Cam Moskal (Friend & fellow Basketball Official) on: Feb 03, 2015

  • I had the pleasure of working with Frank in what was my rookie years as basketball official. I will always remember him as a caring, soft spoken man who was always willing to teach. Rest in peace partner - Posted by: Mike Nazar (Fellow official ) on: Feb 02, 2015

  • Guess God required another umpire. May Frank be at peace, to meet with fellow umpires who passed on, his buddy Wally, the many drives up to first nations Cross Lake & Norway House; That I can always pray for someone that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold & a heart to understand." You're in good hands now. On behalf of the umpires, God be with you. - Posted by: KENNETH (UMPIRE FRIEND) on: Feb 02, 2015
