LAURENCE FRANK OLSON (79) Winnipeg, MB October 21, 1935 - January 26, 2015 On January 26 after a lengthy battle with cancer, Laurence passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Laurence was born in Hilbre, MB on October 21, 1935 by Rannveig and William Olson. He attended Hilbre school where he made numerous friends. Laurence travelled and had many fulfilling jobs when he met and married his first wife Lolitta and had three wonderful children whom he cherished. When the marriage broke down, Laurence continued a strong relationship with his children and Lolitta while continuing his strong work ethic and ability to make friends wherever he worked. In the Fall of 1966 he met Sandra at the Legion on Selkirk and McGregor and 20 years later they married and he took honour of raising four daughters, the last being his own. Laurence's many jobs included truck driving for Bison's, Kleyson's and Arnold Bros. Laurence also owned his own trucking company and built a lodge in Lynn Lake, MB. He ended his career at Hertz Equipment Rental where he made many lasting friendships. Laurence is predeceased by both his parents Rannveig and William, his brother Bill, first wife Lolitta, daughter-in-law Susan. Laurence is survived by his wife Sandra, sister Cecila, son Frank (Rene), son Will (Susan), daughter Brenda (Gordon), daughter Sandra, daughter Tamara, daughter Audra (Dwayne), daughter Pamela (Wally), numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A tribute to Laurence's life will take place on Friday, February 6 at Boyd Park Community Centre located at 1100 College Ave., from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. with a special tribute to Laurence by guest speaker Russell Peters, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. A special thank you to CancerCare Manitoba for the excellent care shown to Laurence and his family.
