Born: Feb 07, 1923
Date of Passing: Feb 03, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHANNAH MARTHA (KUHN) STEINER February 7, 1923 - February 3, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Hannah on February 3, 2015, at Lac du Bonnet, at the age of 91. Hannah will be sadly missed by her children, Darlene (Willie), Fern, Rhona (Les), Vernon, grandchildren Marilyn (Jim), Karlene (Trevor), Melanie (Ryan), Jared (Chantal), Trenton, Daniel, and great-grandson Ryne. Hannah is survived by brothers: Bill (Anne), Norman (Pat), Art (Ann), Alfred, Charlie (Betty), Nelson (Debbie), Ken, Don (Ruby), and sister Audrey. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, sisters Violet, Sylvia, brothers Edward, Herman, Ernest, George, brother-in-law Cliff Hemminger, sisters-in-law Ruth Kuhn, Ferne Kuhn, Vivian Kuhn, and son-in-law Gord Sweeting. She was born and resided most of her life in the Whitemouth area, until moving to Bonny Vista Lodge/Personal Care Home in Lac du Bonnet. She was always actively involved in helping others: such as 4-H leader (32 years), church (ELW), delivering Meals on Wheels, and volunteer ambulance. She always enjoyed being busy with gardening, sewing, crafts (hard hanger, flower arranging, macrame, Brazilian embroidery, quilting, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and taking photos). She travelled to a variety of places such as the east and west coasts, Hawaii, Alaska, Dominican, Australia, and Mexico, although her favourite trip would be one that involved seeing family. This was most dear to her heart. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the caring community of Whitemouth and to the staff at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home for all the care and compassion shown to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hannah's memory to the Residents Council (Attention Judy), Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home, Box 1030, Lac du Bonnet, MB R0E 1A0, or to the Whitemouth Redeemer Lutheran Church. Viewing will be held on February 16 between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Home, Beausejour. Funeral will be held at the Whitemouth Redeemer Lutheran Church on February 17 at 2:00 p.m.

We had the precious opportunity to spend brief interval of time with aunt Hannah. She was such a hard worker for her loved ones and the community. I'm sure we will take a leaf out of her book and try to keep her legacy going. Regards Rebecca and Shane Murphy and families - Posted by: Rebecca and Shane Murphy (neice and family ) on: Feb 16, 2015

Hannah, being the oldest was always looked up to. Everything came between us we always said as she was the oldest and I the youngest in the family. I believe this was the reason we had a special bond between us. Always had good things to say to her and she had the same for me. You will be greatly missed and always put a smile on my face when I think of her. - Posted by: Don Kuhn (Brother) on: Feb 08, 2015

My sister Hannah was always an inspiration to me. As the eldest in the family she worked the hardest and set the example for us to do well. In many ways she was a second young "mother" for all of her siblings. I admire her for making such a success of her life by raising a wonderful family, learning to so much with so little, and enjoying her long life to the fullest. Good memories of you will live forever. - Posted by: Al W. Kuhn (Brother) on: Feb 07, 2015
