JOANNA HNAT On February 6, 2015 our mom, Joanna Hnat, passed away. Mom was born December 25, 1922 and had just celebrated her 92nd birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph. Joanna is survived by children Rick, Chris and Bob. She is also survived by one very special granddaughter Megan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom grew up in Poland, the fourth of five girls. She immigrated to Canada in 1959 to marry her husband and subsequently raise her family. Mom's first love was always her plants and her garden and she spent many happy hours tending to her many plants. She had unique connections with all animals and we believed that not only could she speak to them but that they also understood her. Mom's last few years were spent at Holy Family Home. Despite the many health issues she faced, her outlook was always positive and she looked forward to whatever was going to happen next. We extend our thanks and appreciation to all of the staff of the St. Mary's Unit for the care of Mom during the last four and a half years. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. One of Mom's favourite places to attend was the Assiniboine Park and we would request that donations in Mom's memory can be made to the Assiniboine Park Conservatory.
