HENRY WOJCIECHOWSKI It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Wojciechowski on February 5, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Seven Oaks Hospital. Henry was born on September 5, 1924 in Szczekociny, Poland. He was a Second World War veteran and very much involved with Legion #246. After the war he lived in France and then Germany and came to Canada with his family in 1955. Henry had five sons Zbig, Eugene (deceased), Henry, Stan, and Ted, and stepdaughter Christine. He had eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Ana and Aleksander in Poland. Henry met Anna Budzinsky at Legion #246. They were constantly together until her passing last June. We would like to thank John and Susan Duka especially Susan for taking such good care of Dad. Also thanks to all the staff on the 5th floor at Holy Family Home and many thanks to the staff on the 5th floor, unit 4 at Seven Oaks Hospital for making Henry's last days comfortable. • A power intervened, that was out your son's control and that power took you away from us. I would have wanted to spend the last few months of your life, knowing you on an intimate level.. (a true father son relationship) ...So it is with a saddened heart, all that I could do was watch your life slowly and painfully fade for 11 days .. I was fortunate to have been able to look into your eyes and say goodbye as you passed away. your son Henry - Posted by: Henry Wojciechowski (son) on: Feb 09, 2015

  • Our family extends our deepest sympathy for the loss of your father Henry Wojciechowski. I am writing on behalf of our mother Stella Wojciechowski resident at HFH and as a family friend. My father Edward and your dad Henry were good friends of my mom and dad. My dad Edward Wojciechowski and Henry shared their experiences during WWII and attended Holy Ghost Church and member of the Legion. I remember your dad when we would visit and many years ago when all us kids were still very young. My mom and I did come up to the 5th floor to visit Henry. It was very difficult for him to be in the nursing home. He did remember Stella and I as we would also stop to say hello whenever at Holy Family Home and shared many great conversations with each other while his health permitted to do so. When he was on the 5th floor he still remembered Stella and Eddy and he would point to his portrait as a soldier on the wall. I could see Henry was trying to say that was him and not the person laying in bed. I shared with Henry we would always remember him as a soldier for Poland fighting bravely during the war. He held my hand tightly as if to say thank you for remembering me this way. I truly believe Henry is at peace now and no more suffering. I can only hope perhaps my dad Edward, also a soldier for Poland and fought at Monte Casino Italy, and Henry are sharing time together once again on the other side of life. My sister Helen and I hope to send our deepest sympathy after attending services at Cropo on Thursday. Our dad and mom would have wanted us to pay our respects to Henry on behalf of the family. After service Helen and I will be having lunch with mom at HFH and we will share with Stella that we paid our respects. This would be important for Edward (as a soldier and friend) and for mom. Mom is not able to attend as her health will not permit the journey to Cropo Services. Once again, our deepest sympathy and will be saying prayers for Henry Wojciechowski. Respectfully, Janina (Janet) Wojciechowski daughter of Edward deceased in 1999) and Stella Wojciechowski 4th flr.
