Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDITH ANN SIMPSON-GRUNSTEN (nee MORRISON) May 9, 1948 - February 9, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Ann Simpson-Grunsten. Judith (Judi) was born in Winnipeg, MB on May 9, 1948 and died in St. Albert, AB on February 6, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. She was 66 years of age. Judi leaves to mourn her loving husband of two years, Ron Grunsten; sons: Brad (Sarah) Simpson, and Blake (Ashlee) Simpson; grandchildren: Bailey, Brody, Rylee, Regan, and Robyn; sister, Jan Bean; sister-in-law, Jo-Anne (Dennis) Deley; nieces: Jackie (Randy) Demchuk, Catharine (Callum) Beattie, and Alissa (Jason) Clark; nephew, Jeff Deley; great nieces and nephews: Braeden, Keenan, Lochlan, MacKenzie, Camden, and Jackson. Judi was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, Donald Simpson; parents: James and Anne Morrison; brother, William Morrison; father and mother-in-law: Arthur and Dorothy Simpson; brothers-in-law: Ronnie Simpson and Jim Bean; and daughter-in-law, Samantha Simpson. Judi worked as a CSR for Air Canada, Teller for The Bank of Nova Scotia in Grandin Mall before working with her husband at Beacon Glass Products, the family business her husband Don and she co-founded in 1985. Judi was an avid volunteer, working as treasurer for many of her sons' sports teams and the Baybridge/Sunnyside homeowners association for over 20 years. Judi was also the St. Albert Chairperson for the Canadian Cancer Society for many years, organizing the yearly canvassing drive. Judi enjoyed spending time in Mesa, AZ as well as at her cabin at Lake Isle with her wonderful neighbors and friends. Judi was a wonderful person, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend whose presence will be greatly missed by all she knew. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2015 at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. The family would like to thank the staff at both the Cross Cancer Institute and the Sturgeon Community Hospital for their care and compassion during Judi's illness.
