Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILF R. JACKSON June 9, 1940 - February 8, 2015 Quietly and with dignity in the early hours of Sunday, February 8, 2015, Wilf Jackson, husband of Diane Tokarchuk, passed away at Riverview Palliative Care Unit. Wilf was born on June 9, 1940, to Dorothy and Stan Jackson, living and receiving his education in St. Vital. Wilf loved his golf, curling and his vast collection of Louis L'Amour novels. His happiest times were at the Albert Beach home, socializing with his many friends where many discussions took place regarding sports, music and anything else that required a solution. Wilf was employed at Red River College Notre Dame Campus in Security until illness forced his retirement. He is survived by his wife Diane Tokarchuk; his sons Jeffrey Jackson (Lonny West) and Andrew Jackson (Lisa); grandchildren Ben and Jacob; Diane's children Dan Tokarchuk, Jeffrey (Sharon) Tokarchuk and their children Mary and Ava; his sister Merle Elliott and her family; and his precious sidekick, a dog named Ritchie Valens. Wilf was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Stan; his brother-in-law John Elliott; and Diane's son Kevin Tokarchuk. A special thank you to CancerCare, the Palliative Home Care Team (especially RN Judy Gerard) for the help that allowed Wilf to remain at home till his move to Riverview on January 28. The family would like to thank the staff at 3E Riverview Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Garcia and the Angels of Care. The "End of Life" care Wilf received was exceptional. A private interment entrusted to Cropo Funeral Chapel has taken place. Pallbearers were Jeff, Andrew, Ben and Jacob Jackson, Dean Rankin and Craig Collette. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., at 10:00 a.m. All friends, neighbours and acquaintances are welcome. Honourary pallbearers are Ken and Sharon Danyluk, Mike and Anna Sambork, Carroll Maxwell and Rob Gough, John and Karen Qua, James Rempel, John Bielenda and Agatha Wren. We met, we laughed, we lived and loved life, and now it is time to say goodbye "My Sweet Wilf". The tears in my eyes I can wipe away, the ache in my heart will always stay. 204-586-8044

Wilf was my close friend and long term confidant. We met through business (25+ years ago) and soon found that our common interests spread across many aspects of life...we golfed, curled, drank, listened to music, discussed the failings of ourselves and others, promised to be better and to change what we could in this life if we had the chance. He believed in equality and arm-chaired civil rights and justice. Wilf was an asute observer of human nature and he wanted a "fair-shake" for everyone. He was also a very kind and gentle soul who would not ever strike a blow (figuratively or literally) against anyone ever. He adored his sons and grandchildren and spoke of them often. Diane was his rock...God bless her. Sharon and I will miss him sooo much. God be with you buddy. - Posted by: Ken and Sharon Danyluk (friends) on: Feb 25, 2015

I had the pleasure of meeting Wilf while I was an Admin student at RRC a few years ago! He'd always smile and stopped for a brief chat while making his rounds on the campus. We still kept in touch even after my graduation. He was one of a kind! I'm glad to have known him as a friend! "Go rest high on that mountain," Wilf! Your work here is done! - Posted by: Wilfrid Chartrand (Friend) on: Feb 15, 2015

I had not the pleasure of meeting Wilf. I worked with his son Andrew Jackson. I can only say that it took fine parents to rear such a stand-up guy. My condolences to you Andrew, and you family. - Posted by: Tyson Wheeler (Colleague of Wilf's son) on: Feb 14, 2015
