SHAWN PATRICK RIDGEWAY August 18, 1983 - February 6, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a man who meant so much to all of us. Shawn passed away at the age of 31, on February 6, 2015. He was predeceased by his grandmother Anna Marie Sutherland. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Danna Ridgeway (Kenny) and his father Ted Harasym (Tracy). He is also mourned by his partner Christy; brothers and sisters Shane (Sam), Sterling, Skylar, John, Stacy (Raymond), Stephanie (Ryan), Michelle and Kerri; aunts and uncles Carla, Derrill, Randy, Blaine, Roger, Cindy, Sonja, Dennis, Sharon and Siggie; nieces and nephews Claudia, Tessa, Joseph and Rhythme; as well as numerous cousins and many lifelong friends. Shawn will always be remembered for his kind heart, beautiful, outgoing personality and the ability to make everyone around him happy. He loved working on vehicles, listening to music and camping in the Whiteshell. Shawn was expecting his first baby, a girl, this May. Wake will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12; funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13; both at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.; to be followed by a celebration feast at Freight House Centre, 200 Isabel St.

  • I'm a friend of Christy's. I went to school with her then later on in life we had become friends. Christy is one of the very few that has never judged me and was always there when I needed a shoulder or ear. Now I feel that it is my turn to be that support for her like she was and is for me. I had the privilege of having met Shawn a few times while I would visit Christy at her work and he was always so friendly and nice. My partner even conversed with him. A few times and thought he was a 'really cool guy' his exact words. Shawn seemed to me to be one of those people that was genuine and good. I know how much Christy loves him. He is her world it seems. Shawn made her really happy. It makes me so sad to see such a young, handsome, nice man leave this world and it breaks my heart to know the pain my friend must be feeling. I pray you stay strong Christy. And even though I have never met any of Shawn's family, I give all of you my deepest sympathy and condolences.   • Shawn's family lived in the same housing that we did for several years. Our kids went to the same school and you WBYO together. Sometimes my kids and he and his siblings were friends and sometimes they were not. That is kids for you. My deepest condolences. Dana, no mother should have to bury their child. I cannot imagine what that feels like. My heart goes out to you and your family. Time will help you heal but never help you for forget. God bless.
