Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE FOSTER GLENWRIGHT It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of George Glenwright in the early morning hours of February 5, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marguerite; his loving children David (Nancy), and Mary Lynne; and his cherished grandsons Josh, Andrew, Chase and Noah. George is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Tom, Allison, Linda, Janice, Mark, Shelley and Steve; as well as the Lundgren and Fournier families, and many friends in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg. George was predeceased by his father Foster, mother Eveline, and brother Tom. George was born and grew up in Winnipeg, after which he moved for a short while to Texas. From Texas he quickly moved on to better things in Vancouver where he met and married Marguerite in 1956. Early in his work career he was a salesman for Van Waters and Rogers, selling chemicals to the laundry and dry cleaning industry. Soon after, he purchased and operated his own dry cleaning plant in West Vancouver. After selling that business, he stayed involved in the industry in various capacities until he retired in the mid 1980s. He and Marguerite enjoyed travel and travelled extensively both with friends and family. There will be a celebration of George's life in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the coming weeks. I met cousin George and his wife Marguerite only once in Vancouver in 1998 and was deeply impressed by his gentle manner and kind words (my wife was undergoing treatment for cancer). I have a picture of George, my mother Gracia and their cousin Dorothy Jane taken circa 1935. Cute kids. I was saddened to hear of his passing. - Posted by: John Tracy (Cousin) on: Jan 18, 2018
