  • I am fortunate enough to have known Liam for nearly 30 years. Growing up with his beautiful daughter Gemma I practically lived at their house, so much so my mum would say Irene and Liam saw more of me then her. I have so many memories and those I will always treasure. Love to you all xx - Posted by: Miranda (family friend ) on: Feb 20, 2015

  • Goodnight Dad, missing you already!!! XXXXXXX - Posted by: Jason Barclay (son) on: Feb 19, 2015

  • The Barclays took me in as an extended family member while in hospital. Liam and I had a few really nice conversations about life and how it changes as we change. It was so heartwarming to hear Liam and Irene speak so warmly to each other, obviously still very much in love. And how the family stood vigil at his bedside and came from near and far. The laughter and love very apparent. Rest in Peace Liam and love and strength to your family and friends. - Posted by: Kim Hovey (room mate at SBGH) on: Feb 17, 2015

  • I've had the privilege of meeting Liam and his family through table tennis. My first encounter with Liam left an indelible memory. After Liam had schooled me on table tennis, the first of many lessons, we spoke of table tennis, Scotland, life, travelling, family, Grandkids etc. His genuine warmth, kindness, humour, athleticism and overall classiness will never be forgotten. Rest well. Peace to you and your family, Liam. - Posted by: Andy Bachmann (Table Tennis friend) on: Feb 17, 2015

  • Dear Liam, It is with great sadness that I make these comments. As you look down upon us all, I want to thank you on behalf of your table tennis family for all of the great times we shared. Your competitive spirit, un-abridled positivism at the table, sense of fair play and sportsmanship, role model and mentor to many of the young players will be truly missed. I wish you many edge and netballs at the great table in the sky. God bless! - Posted by: Ron Edwards (Table Tennis Friend) on: Feb 17, 2015
