Date of Passing: Dec 22, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE IRENE HEATON September 14, 1927 - December 22, 2014 In loving memory of Alice Irene Heaton (nee Brown) who passed away at the age of 87. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Harvey Richard Brown (1962) and Anne Elizabeth Brown (1968). She is deeply missed by her husband Albert, children Stewart (Darlene Ronald), Jim (Cathie Edger), and Ann (Daryl Anning), and grandchildren Derrick, Ryan, David (Elisabeth), and Julia. Irene was born in Treherne, Manitoba. She spent her youth living in various communities throughout rural Manitoba with her parents, eventually settling in Winnipeg where she graduated from Kelvin High School and then United College in 1950. Irene worked at Manitoba Telephone Systems and Trans Canada Airlines prior to marrying Al, her husband of 59 years. Children quickly became a big part of her life with the arrival of Stew and then two years later, twins Jim and Ann. She spent countless hours participating in their activities. Irene also enjoyed her volunteer work with the Winnipeg Humane Society, United Way, and Windsor Park Library. She enjoyed travelling throughout Canada on many family road trips, and in later years, travelling abroad. Other favourite pastimes were spending summers at the lake, golfing and curling where she served as President of Ladies Curling at the Fort Rouge Curling Club. You are so greatly missed! A private service has already taken place. The family wishes to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff of Vista Park Lodge for their care and compassion.
