DONA IRENE CRAIG
Born: Oct 09, 1930
Date of Passing: Feb 07, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONA IRENE CRAIG (nee LEMMON) October 9, 1930 - February 7, 2015 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Dona Irene Craig passed gently into the early morning at St. Boniface General Hospital, at the age of 84 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ian (Carole), Ruth-Anne, and Steven, as well as her grandchildren David, Matthew (Andrea), Daniel (Kimberly), Cameron, Bryce, and her great-grandsons Andrew and Zane. She will also be missed by her best friend Kathy Jackson. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, her parents, and her beloved grandson Damien. Dona was born and raised in Winnipeg and raised her own family here as well. She was a fiercely independent, self-made individual with a passion for literature, jazz, and sports. She worked her entire life, and rose to positions of prominence in the accounting field. She was a real humanitarian and a woman ahead of her time. Her generosity knew no boundaries. She was a dedicated grandmother and was fondly known by her boys as "the sports grandma", as she loved attending all their games and activities. We will sorely miss her keen wit, her sense of humour, her passion, and her positive perspective on life, which she maintained until the end. A celebration of Mom's life will be held in March. Details to follow.
