My uncle Max was a very favorite uncle of mine along with his wife my Auntie Bert. I grew up living 2 doors away from them on Rupertsland Ave. There were great times. Although in much later years we were not in contact he will always be part of my heart - Posted by: Maureen Tessler (Uncle) on: Feb 15, 2015

I had the good fortune to become a business associate or Max's 46 yrs. ago on Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg's north end,(it was not the den of iniquity then that it is now), and abundant honest business's flourished. It was a great place to be in those times. People respected one another, and always shared pleasant greetings when they would meet in the local coffee shop; as Max laughingly would state from time to time; to tell one another lies. My fondest memory of those times was when Max asked me which Synagog I attended, as he had never seen me at his (all of this in his impeccable Yiddish tongue); and I replied in my equally competent Yiddish, that I was not Jeweh, but Catollish of European ancestry, to which both of us erupted in guffawing laughter and hugging like two long lost brothers finally meeting for the first time. - Posted by: Bernard Struch (Old Friend) on: Feb 14, 2015
