GLEN FREEMAN With gratitude for his life, hearts full of love, and great sadness for our loss, we announce Glen's passing on February 11, 2015. A devoted man, whose passion and pride was his family and home, Glen was happiest when he was outdoors, be it tending his meticulously groomed yard, annual family camping holidays at Rushing River, or August long weekends at Malachi. Glen was a humble, tenacious man who leaves us inspired. Husband and true love of Bonnie (Wiens). Loving and proud father of Matthew (Erin), Lisa (Joel) Fingard. Papa of grandson Jack Fingard, who brought him such joy he declared, "A day without Jack is like a day without sunshine!". Brother of Rosemary, Dennis, Rhonda, Raymond; brother-in-law of Rob. Predeceased by parents Siggi and Mary Freeman, in-laws Hank and Tina Wiens. Our lives will not be the same without him, we were better because of him, and will be diminished by his passing. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Niakwa Country Club, 620 Niakwa Rd.

Condolences & Memories (39 entries)

  • Dear Bonnie, I havent seen you in years but I just want to tell you I am very sorry for your loss. I am glad for you and Glen that you were his "true Love"....very few people find that in this life. Love, Lynn - Posted by: Lynn Sawatzky (Wiens) (Cousin) on: Jun 18, 2016

  • Dear Bonnie and family; It's hard to believe it has been a year since Glen has passed. I just looked up his obituary today. Although I have not had much contact with you folks over the years, I have always thought highly of you, and your family. I remember Glen as a thoughtful and sensitive man. My strongest memory of him is from when my Mom was in hospital for the last time, in 1996. I was seated beside her bed. She was still with us, but just barely. Glen leaned close to her and said, in a voice I think only the three of us could hear; "I'll see you on the other side." Then he looked at me and smiled. I was very moved by that and have thought of it many times since then. When I think of him, I think of that. It is especially resonant now. - Posted by: Michael Boss (Bonnie's cousin) on: Feb 16, 2016

  • Bonnie and family, didn't know you all as well as I liked but did see you on occasion. I always feel a special bond to your family because of Glen and his relationship to Uncle Siggi. • Glen was a wonderful, kind, loving man that I classify myself as truly blessed to have known almost all my life. My memories of him are so diverse it's crazy. Looks on his face of absolute shock of the dumb stuff Matt and I did as kids, to sitting in the yard with a scotch listening to him play guitar and singing, to building Matt's deck/basement together. You will be truly missed by all my friend. It was an honour to have known you. - Posted by: Ryan Hodgins (close family friend (Matt and I going on 29 strong years)) on: Feb 23, 2015
