Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER MALY August 14, 1924 - February 15, 2015 Peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2015, Peter passed away with his wife Lona by his side and his friend Angela also at his side. He leaves to cherish his dearly beloved and devoted wife Lona, of 68 years. He will also be lovingly remembered by his daughter Beverly (David) of Chilliwack, BC; his son Larry Maly of Portage La Prairie; grandchildren Grant, Garth and Debbie Davies of British Columbia, Amanda of Toronto, ON; great-grandchildren Leila and Keeley of British Columbia, as well as several nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents William and Pearl Maly; sister Olga; and brothers George and Willis. Peter was born in Westbourne, MB and received his education there. After finishing school, he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and served three years. While stationed in Gimli he met and married Lona in 1946. In 1957 Peter went to work for the Department of National Defense as a sign painter until his retirement in 1984. Peter loved reading, carpentry, art projects, sign painting and mechanics. The family extends sincere gratitude to doctors Beik and R.C. Patel and all hospitals and Betel Home Care staff. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 21, 2015, viewing at 10:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Gimli. Officiating will be Fr. Mike Nwosu and Fr. Art Seaman. Interment will follow Mass in the Gimli Community Cemetery. Lunch will follow the interment. Flowers are kindly declined. Donations may be given to a charity of choice.
