MARTHA BARBARA MANN Martha Barbara Mann (nee Balsillie) passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in the city of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, at the age of 91 years. Barbara was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 21, 1923. She grew up in Winnipeg, where she married her husband, Arthur Wellington Mann, and they raised their two children, Arthur Wellington (John) Mann and Hazel Beverley Mann. Barbara worked for many years in Winnipeg with Eatons of Canada, and later with The Bay. In 1987, she left Winnipeg and moved to Alberta where her children were living, and resided in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Martha Balsillie; her husband, Arthur Mann; her three brothers, William (Buzz), James (Jim) and John (Bill) Balsillie; and both her children, Hazel and John. Barbara is survived by her three granddaughters, Jennifer (Darryl) Grant, Amanda (Chad) Whitley, and Stephanie (Erik) Tollefson, and daughter-in-law Bonita Mann. One of Barbara's greatest pleasures was cooking. She loved to cook and created her own recipes, which she entered in baking contests and often won. Barbara will be remembered for her strong faith and hope in her God Jehovah and His promises, which she loved to share with others. She was very active in her Christian ministry, until old age and poor health made it no longer possible. At Barbara's request, there will be no funeral service.
