JEAN MAY CROFT 1937 - 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean May Croft on February 21, 2015 at Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan, BC. Jean was born in Ashton under Lyne, England, on May 1, 1937, the youngest of five children. In 1960 Jean married her husband Les, and together they had two sons, Michael and Paul. Les and Jean relocated their family to Canada in the early 1970s and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Over the years she owned or managed various retail stores until her retirement in 1991. For the next six years Jean and Les RVed around the Canada and the US until they decided to settle down in Killarney, Manitoba. They would spend the summers in Manitoba and then escape the Manitoba winters to Hemet or Indio, California. Jean was predeceased by her parents William and Alice Ingoldsby; her brothers and sisters Norman, Margaret (Alfred), Kathleen and Arnold (Irene). Jean is lovingly remembered by her husband Les; sons Michael (Janet) and Paul (Judy); grandchildren Daryl (Chrissy), Laura (Matt), Michelle (Chris), Jared, Stacy and Shaun; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Hurley, Lily, Lux and Hampton. Cremation entrusted to Hatley Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined, those so desiring may make a donation to a charity of their choosing. SANDS of DUNCAN 250-746-5212

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Have fond memories of spending time with Aunty Jean and Uncle Les when they lived in Winnipeg. Our deepest sympathies to you all during this difficult time. Deb, Kevin & Catherine - Posted by: Deb Guthrie (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2015

  • Although my family and myself did not see a lot of Auntie Jean and Uncle Les over the years, she will still be sadly missed. She will remain forever in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. When we visited them in 2007, she couldn't do enough for us and without her tenaciousness I doubt we would have got our delayed luggage back so quickly. She was a lovely lady with a dry sense of humour. May she rest in peace. Love from Cathy, Gary and Family xxxxxxx - Posted by: Catherine Marsden (Niece) on: Feb 27, 2015

  • I worked with Jean many years ago for Southland... Jean was a remarkable woman, with a great sense of humor. And an accent you could listen to for hours... She loved to talk about Les and the kids...she was so proud of her children. She will be missed.... My thoughts are with her family....Rest in peace Jean - Posted by: Diana Mucha (Saunders) (Co-Worker) on: Feb 26, 2015
