  • Small coffee, one refill, and rye toast, lightly buttered ..... his regular order every Wednesday .... I met Gerry shortly after opening Forbidden Flavours Coffee Roastery (2005) although our little coffee shop has been closed for several years, my friendship with Gerry continued .... loved his regular email jokes and interactive Christmas cards ... you will be missed my friend. • Gerry was a great friend. He retired, a Sgt, from the Reg F in Winnipeg and continued his service on Cl B. Gerry worked for me (or did I work for him?) at Bde HQ in the G1 shop. He thoroughly knew his trade, and all aspects of Reg F/P Res Pers Admin. Backed up everything with the pertinent regulation. His sage advise and professionalism were the greatest asset to the Brigade. Unfortunately, his daughter Danielle was lost on Lake Winnipeg in a boating accident with several other young adults. The COS gave us the time off to assist with the RCMP search. We walked miles of beach together, almost got sunk in an RCMP boat that stuck an underwater object (praying it was not one of the lost). Thank goodness he still had his daughter Sonia, and later Betty in his life. Great sense of humor, golf nut, enjoyed getting new cars every few years. Favorite expression" I'll Decide"! We regularly kept in contact after I moved. See you later Gerry. - Posted by: Brian and Heather Batter (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2015

  • I had the pleasure of working with Gerry many years ago when we were both in the army. He was a true gentleman who served his country and his community with distinction. In retirement he and Betty became a wonderful team who enjoyed traveling. We will all miss him - Posted by: Ivan (Colleague) on: Feb 28, 2015
