OLGA HOULE (nee BURDENIUK) Peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, Olga Houle passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters Rhonda (Jeff) Dovyak, Valerie (Harold) Martinos and Sherrie (Bob) Houle; grandchildren Luke (Samantha), Cynthia (Shane), Matthew (Bobbie), Natalie, David and Colin; great-grandchildren Alesha, Cody and Braxton. She also leaves behind sisters Anne Bourque and Olesia Romanyshyn, sisters-in-law Sandra McLean, Lynda Romanyshyn, Annette Johnas and Leona Houle; brother-in-law John Davies, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Pearl Soyko and Fred Romanyshyn; stepfather Harry Soyko; sister Marion (Mike) Pesiak; brothers Walter Tesluk and Edward Romanyshyn; sister-in-law Evelyn Campbell; brothers-in-law Herman Bourque, Gilbert Houle and Rene Houle; as well as parents-in-law John and Agnes Houle. Olga grew up in Ethelbert, Manitoba and after moving to Winnipeg she worked at Perth's. When Olga moved to Hamilton she worked at Canada Packers and after moving back to Winnipeg she worked at Canadian Linen. Some of her travels took her to Florida, Boston, Atlantic City and Nashville. She always said she loved Johnny Cash. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing many cat and dog quilts that she donated to the Winnipeg Humane Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Beacon Hill Lodge and St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care given to her over the past four months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2015 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street.
