RONALD ALFRED PAPINEAU (BIG JIG) It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Papineau, our beloved son, brother, father and friend on February 24, 2015 at the age of 58. Ron was predeceased by his father, Rene in 2004, and is survived by his mother Annette, brother Ed (Karen), sisters Rachelle (Georges) and Linda (Grant), sons Conley and Colton, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He will also be missed by his partner Shannon and her family. Ron was born and raised in Powerview. In his early adult life, he loved to travel on his Harley with his buddies exploring the countryside. One of his favourite places to be was "Happy" cabin. A lot of memories and fish tales were created there. He also had a love of the great outdoors, especially his time spent hunting with his friends and in-laws either at the farm or elsewhere in the Moose Caboose. He began his trade as mechanic working alongside his dad and went on to become half owner of Papineau Motors with Ed after his dad retired. Ron was a person with a very big heart, always willing to lend a hand as long as it didn't involve "carpentry" skills. As per Ron's wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E, Beausejour. Interment of his ashes to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's memory to Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, 1031 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8 or Canadian Mental Health Association Manitoba Division, 930 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0P8. • When I look back and remember Ronnie, the first thing I see in my mind is a curly headed beautiful little kid with the cutest little giggly laugh and the mischievous smile that went with it.. ahh, those twinkling eyes...He could always be found teasing Linda and Carol. He was like another little brother to me, hangin' with Eddy, always at the house. He was an amazing person! I am so proud and privileged to have known him. I loved him so... Philip and I are so very sorry to hear about Ronnie passing away and want you all to know that we're here for any of you whenever you might need anything, anything at all. Sometimes things happen that seem too difficult to face. But hearts do mend, and time can be a healer to help soothe the pain. As you share your stories and memories of how very much he meant, you will find comfort. And, throughout this very sad time, may you all know the deep sympathy and concern that is being felt for your family. Heaven has welcomed a Very Special Person and he will be missed dearly. Another new Bright and Brilliant Star is shining in our heavenly sky. Rest in Peace Ronnie. We are sending all of you our heartfelt Prayers, Love and and Great Big Hugs..... • May thoughts of sympathy bring you comfort....even though I had not seen Ron in a while I have nothing but great memories of him during our high school days. He was exactly a month younger than me. He was always so kind to me, lots of laughs together & great dancing at socials. May faith lighten your sorrow. You are in my heart and thoughts during this most difficult time. - Posted by: Suzanne (Lachiver) LeMadec (Friend) on: Feb 28, 2015

  • Our years in the 70's and early 80's. Not like we we're close, just in the same time and environment. Somehow I remember an Afro and beard and an absolutely beautifully meauralized van! I am 3 days older than he is and have also suffered chronic metal illness throughout my life with chronic depression. I wish all the family peace in heart and soul and may Ron finally find peace and contentment and rest from all the tensions in his life. - Posted by: Cameron Wonnick () on: Feb 28, 2015
