Our sympathies to all your family. I had several chats with Bernie when I was the union rep at Fisons. He did like to give me advice. I especially recall his stories about the old days of extreme physical labour digging the ditches to drain the peat moss bogs. He also shared family tales of earlier years...the move to Canada and challenges faced. Through his tough exterior, his pride in his children and their children was obvious ...not to say you didn't frustrate him at times. He was quick to be sure I enjoyed Sophie's cooking and baking as much as he did. Hugs to all. Mary - Posted by: Mary Johnson (Friend) on: Mar 04, 2015
