MARGARET RIVEST (nee DICKINSON) May 8, 1922 - February 18, 2015 Margaret Rivest passed away peacefully at Winnipeg's Victoria General Hospital on February 18, 2015 at the age of 92. Born and raised on the family farm in Solsgirth, Manitoba, Margaret was the first of three children born to Fred and Christina Dickinson. Margaret will be missed by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Rivest and grandchildren, Kyle Rivest, Erin Rivest, Dena Taraschuk (Dustin), son-in-law Doriano Domirti and many close friends and family. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Christina Dickinson, brother Sgt. Harry Dickinson, sister Shirley Dickinson, son Donald Rivest, and daughter Janet Domirti, sons-in-law Richard Smykalski and Gordon VanNest. A selfless and compassionate woman, Margaret put the needs of those close to her before her own, and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Lindenwood Manor on Wednesday, March 4, Heritage Entrance, 475 Lindenwood Dr. E. from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to CancerCare Manitoba, or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

I visit Lindenwood Manor weekly and have lunch with my mom, Ann Cameron. I've thoroughly enjoyed several lunches with Meg and the other girls at her table. I'm so sorry to read that she has passed; she was a lovely lady. My sincere condolences to Meg's family and to the girls at Lindenwood Manor who enjoyed her company daily.
