Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryENA WILNA (WILENE) DOOLAN Wilene passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014 at Golden West Centennial Lodge, in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by parents, William and Sarah (Meara); sisters Mina, Marjorie (Boswell), Lynne (Matthews); brothers George and Reg. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many grand nieces and nephews. Wilene graduated from Gordon Bell High School, and later worked at Eaton's Mail Order where she remained until her retirement. In her free time, Wilene enjoyed gardening in Winnipeg and at the family cottage in Matlock as well as being an active member of St. Matthew's Church and St. Patrick's/St. Jude's Church. Cooking, sewing, knitting, macramé, and photography were other activities that she enjoyed. Wilene was very proud of her Irish heritage and, especially on St. Patrick's Day, she wore the green of Ireland with pride, & often with humour! Wilene was a gregarious and outgoing person, always cheerful and friendly, and she enriched the lives of the many people who knew her! Wilene was cremated in accordance with her wishes and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
