PETER JAMAN
Born: Dec 23, 1928
Date of Passing: Mar 05, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER JAMAN It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of our devoted Father and Grandfather at the age of 86, peacefully with family at his side, on March 5, 2015. Peter was born on December 23, 1928 in Sirko, MB. The loving husband and best friend of his one and only love of 47 years, the late Mary Jaman (nee Bilawchuk). Devoted Father of Melody (Wayne) Bodnarchuk and Connie Jaman, dear son of the late John and Anisia Jaman. Doting Grandfather of Braeden and the late Brett Yasinsky. Also predeceased by brothers William, Alexander, Nicholas, John and sisters Lillian Jamon, Violet Shippit, Mary Chornopiski, Kay Dawes and Sophie Zayatz. As a young man, he started his journey as a lumberjack in BC. After marrying, he and Mary moved to Atikokan, ON where he operated the heavy equipment that built the Trans-Canada highway. Missing friends and family they returned to Winnipeg where he continued as a loader operator and concrete pipe plant quality controller. Not afraid of hard work, he retired at age 69. Papa had an unending thirst for knowledge and was a voracious reader. He gathered an extensive coin collection and revelled in making beautiful jewellery from unusual stones and fossils. He was our moral compass, the epitome of integrity and our pillar of strength. We will forever feel an overwhelming void without him in our lives. Our deepest gratitude to the staff of emergency and unit N3E at Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St. Fr. Bill Wasyliw presiding. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Papa, you are our forever hero. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MADD Winnipeg Chapter, 370 Notre Dame Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3B 1P8. When we came to Canada your family adopted mine. Uncle Peter was kindhearted and wonderful. He and Auntie Mary never let a birthday go by for my sister or I without giving a gift to both of us. We always felt loved by your family. Our hearts are with yours. Lena, Olia, Mark, Tanya and family. - Posted by: Evelina (Berger) Pescitelli (Family friend) on: Mar 08, 2015
