Our deepest sympathy to you all, Betty-Ann, Sarah and Brent, and Rachel, and to all your family and friends. We are all shocked. So young, so sudden! I always remember Tom as like a big brother! Like my own as he looked out for Marilyn and I when we visited as children. We were proud of his wonderful career with the Canadian Armed Forces and viewed him as a strong, special person. Always a gentleman and proud husband and father. We deeply regret that we have been unable to visit and see you all as we have thought of you often. We send our heartfelt wishes that you can find strength from the love sent you and focus on your happy memories. All the best, with our love, Bernice, Laurie (Peter), Jim (Anne), and our families. - Posted by: Laurie Ash (Taylor) (Cousin) on: Mar 13, 2015

I worked with Major Ross at Training Support Company for two years. It was during this time that we were given responsibility for the soldiers returning from Bosnia, Croatia, and so on. Many of these soldiers had major issues, and Major Ross was quick to recognize the fact that our unit was not equipped for this role. He alerted the chain of command, drafted a recommended course of action, and was instrumental in securing proper care and administration for these soldiers under a separate organization. Major Ross was an excellent Officer, soldier, and communicator. His focus was always on soldiers, their training, and development. My sincere condolences for your loss. Ubique Colin V. I worked with Tom but briefly in Croatia back in 1993-94, although I had long known him through his universally high reputation throughout the RCA. Dear Betty-Ann My condolences on the passing of Tom! Though our paths have not crossed for many years, I often think about a time at harvest at Uncle Ernie's (fraser place) when we played while he was swathing. May you have consolation with your family and friends at this time ! Though we know not why things occur the way they do, God has always had a plan for each one of us even before we were born! Dear Betty-Ann, Sarah, Rachel and family, We were deeply saddened to learn of the loss of your husband and father Tom. Tom was a loyal and steadfast friend whose quiet and wise counsel was invaluable during our years working together. We, including Cindy and Carey, were privileged to count on Tom as a very good friend who enriched our lives and times together in Shilo and in Europe. We particularly cherish the memories of the interactions over the years between our two families including babysitting adventures and the indomitable Mr. Chips! We are grateful that we had the opportunity to see Tom at the OCP reunion in Kingston and regret that we had not seen him more recently. Our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time. - Posted by: Linda and Larry Mintz (Friends) on: Mar 07, 2015
