MERVYN BRUCE PILKEY On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, Merv passed away at Grace Hospital, in Winnipeg, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will always be remembered for his warm personality and his compassion for other people. Merv is survived by his wife Pat, sister-in-law Pam Forsyth, many cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Elsie Pilkey, brother Ron and his in-laws, Wilf and Sarah Forsyth. Merv was born April 25, 1939 in Neepawa, MB, where he attended school and participated in many sports He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, golf, snooker and spent many years as a referee for Winnipeg minor hockey. He was a fan of horse racing and NASCAR. He was an avid fisherman and spent many weekends camping, fishing and enjoying a campfire. Merv travelled to many parts of Manitoba following the fair circuit with his business, Pilk's Novelties, where he became well known and made many lasting friendships along the way. Merv was a proud member of St. James #4 Legion and ANAF #283 in Winnipeg, where he played snooker and cribbage. At his request, there will be no service and interment will be at a later date. Arrangements are in care of White's Funeral Home in Neepawa, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Grace Hospital for the care Merv received.

To all of Merv's family and friends, I am sorry that this message comes so late, I only found out today about his passing. My most sincere condolences. Merv will always be remembered as the kind man to all who knew him we will miss his calls from "Winterpeg" with his charming laughter. Pat we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Merv. We have a lot of fond memories of some of the trips we took together many years ago and the fun we had.
