LORRAINE MURIEL HOPKINS (nee SCOTT) November 2, 1926 - March 7, 2015 On March 7, 2015, surrounded by the love of family, Mom passed away peacefully at the Morris General Hospital. Mom was born on November 2, 1926 in Dominion City, Manitoba. She is survived by one son Reg; two daughters Gloria (Dave) and Shelley; four grandchildren Samantha, Shawn, Ryan and Brayden; and one great-grandson Nate. She is also survived by one brother Osborne Scott; and two sisters Dorothy (Chester) Stewart and Betty Weiss. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jim; parents William and Annie Scott; one sister Elanor Sharratt; one brother Donald Scott; and her granddaughter Kylee. On June 21, 1947 mom married the love of her life James Hopkins. They lived and farmed at Ste. Elizabeth for over 40 years before retiring to Morris in 1989. In the mid 1970s Mom became a Nurses Aide, and worked at the Morris Hospital, and the Red River Valley Lodge until she retired in 1986. Mom enjoyed her knitting, crocheting, quilt making and needle point. She also loved having her gardens and flower beds to putter in. By far her greatest pleasure however was her family, especially her grandchildren, for whom her love knew no bounds. The family would like to thank Dr. Fraser and all the staff at the Morris General Hospital for the wonderful care given to Mom over the last four months, and for the compassion shown to the family. The funeral service for Lorraine Hopkins will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Dominion City United Church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Dominion City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Dominion City United Church. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My deepest condolences to Lorraine's family. I'm so happy I got to see Lorraine in February. I was on vacation in Hawaii until March 17th and apologize I missed her service. Lorraine was a lovely lady. Always a smile and so kind to my mom when she was a patient in Morris. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Clayton Pott (Friend) on: Mar 18, 2015
