Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA JAMES April 10, 1931 - March 5, 2015 On March 5, 2015 Anna James passed away, at the age of 83 years, at the Grace Hospice in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by Charles, her husband of 50 years, her son Wayne, and her parents, Anton and Jenny Sorensen. She is survived by her son Charles (Lynda), grandsons Jerome, Justin, Jonathon and Jeffrey of Hawaii, her grandson Kristian (Lisa), great-grandsons Blake and Anton of California, her sister Betty Graham (Don), her brother Grant Sorensen (Marilyn), and many nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.S.A. Born in Kandahar, Saskatchewan, the family moved to Winnipeg in 1936 and Anna attended Machray School and St. John's High School and she always considered herself a "North End girl". Charles and Anna married in 1954, lived in Los Angeles for a number of years, and then returned home to Winnipeg. They travelled North America, England, France, Denmark, Nigeria as well as many trips to Hawaii and Southern California. They enjoyed going to football games and were "True Blue" fans through the good and bad years. Anna took great pleasure in the many family gatherings as well as sharing adventures with her grandsons. Her sharp wit and sense of humour will definitely be missed. Anna's relationship with Jesus was her strength. Her church family meant so much to her. She treasured the friendship and staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home where she volunteered for many years. Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Temple, Buntain Chapel, 400 Hargrave Street. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue following the service and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Place Personal Care Home, 1325 Erin Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 3R6. Heartfelt thanks from Anna's family and friends to all the staff at the Grace Hospice for their care, kindness and good humour over the past months. Be at peace, Anna. My sincere condolences. Anna will truly be missed. We shared many good times, good laughs and she always told me not to worry. She heeded her own advice, living each day as it came. Bye for now, see you again. - Posted by: Gladys Walker (Friend) on: Mar 13, 2015

Anna was a constant source of positive encouragement. She brought that good cheer to us all the way to Nigeria on a visit many years ago. Anna will be dearly missed. - Posted by: Olu and Tracy Peters (Friends) on: Mar 10, 2015
