MELVIN REGINALD BACKMAN Peacefully, at the age of 65, Melvin Backman passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, February 16, 2015. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Ywanna Jean (Hayduk), of 38 years, adored daughter Vanessa and the light of his life, grandsons Ryder and Caden. He also will be fondly remembered by his sisters Lillian Backman, Janice (Ron) Martens, Jo-Anne Kalbe, mother-in-law Elsie Hayduk, brothers-in-law David, Richard Hayduk, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Melvin was predeceased by his parents Sydney and Audrey Backman (MacDonald), and his brother Dennis Smee, all of Melville, Saskatchewan. He was a man who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and country living. Mel will be fondly remembered for his charming smile, charismatic wit, and passion for life. Dad, we will miss you and love you forever. The family would like to thank the staff of the East Borderland Primary Health Care Centre for their compassion, care and support. In keeping with Melvin's wishes, cremation has taken place.
