Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECIL ELWOOD RIPPIN Peacefully on March 8, 2015, aged 93 years, Cecil Rippin passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Cec will be fondly remembered by daughter Cathy (Jeff, and children Rebecca, Danny, and Julia), son Rob (Alison, and daughter Mickeely), in-laws Eleanor, Louise, Doug, and Russell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Reta, to whom he was married for 58 years, as well as parents Agnes and Frederick, brothers Alfred (Ethel) and Norman, sister Ruby (Pat), parents-in-law Henry and Tina, and in-laws Esther, Herb, Anita, and Jack. Cecil was born in Fort William ON, and began his career in the grain industry there. He moved to Winnipeg in the early 1950s, working for both National Grain and Cargill Grain as the Chief Grain Inspector. He called St. James home, and enjoyed participating in the Anglican Church, the local community club, the Horticultural Society and Square Dancing Clubs. Upon retiring Cec and Reta enjoyed several years of travel as well as the close community found at Kiwanis Chateau. Cec always valued family ties, and ensured that regular pilgrimages back to Thunder Bay occurred annually to cement the bonds between all the generations. The family is very grateful and extends their sincere thanks for the expert and compassionate care provided to Cecil over the last several years at The Rosewood, and Riverview Health Centre Personal Care Home. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at Riverview this June.

Cathy, Jeff and family - I was so very sorry to hear about Mr. Rippin's passing. You probably don't remember me, but I met you a few times while you were visiting Mr. Rippin at Riverview. I so enjoyed my visits with him and his humour! He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Nancy (friend of Mr. Rippin's) on: Mar 19, 2015
