LARRY JAMES BEAUCAGE August 29, 1936 - March 7, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Larry James Beaucage on March 7, 2015 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, SK from cancer. Larry was born on August 29, 1936 in St. Boniface, MB to Pete and Helen Beaucage. The eldest of five children, he was raised in Vassar, MB and at the age of 16 moved with his family to Nestor Falls, ON to work in the bush with his father and uncles. It was here where he met the love of his life, Gail Mae Roblin. They were the first couple to be married in the tiny church of St. Mary's in Nestor Falls on May 24, 1955. Larry and Gail had five children and moved into Kenora, ON to raise their children. In the early 1970s, they moved to Fort Frances, ON where a sixth child joined the family. Larry then built the family home and continued working as a logger in the bush. In 1985, after a series of accidents while working in the bush Larry and Gail and their youngest son moved to Dundurn, SK at which time Larry became a long haul driver retiring from that in 2004. Still not willing to fully retire, he became a maintenance man for an apartment complex and continued working until his illness made it too difficult. He stopped working on January 31, 2015. Our husband/father was a very hard working, loving, caring and honest man who never broke a promise. He was very dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was of the utmost importance to him. Larry is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Gail (nee Roblin), his four sons Rick (Kathryn), Eugene (Debra), Jamie (Marion) and Darcy (Cindy); one daughter Michelle (Vince); 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters Patricia "Pat" Johnson (Wally), Paulette "Kookie" Rayburn (Don) and Joy "Joe" Sosnowski (Tom); four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law through Gail; also very close friends Bill and Grace Beeler and John and Katie Bohnke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt Lillian Meush. Larry was predeceased by his brother Morris (1974); his parents Pete and Helen Beaucage (2000); his oldest daughter Lorelei (2012); two grandchildren Kathleen and David; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law, and Gail's parents Florence and John Speaker and Jim and Ada Roblin. The family would like to sincerely thank Larry's sister Pat for being with Mom and Dad until his passing and her son Doug for all he did to help as well. We would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus Council 5104, the doctors and all of the nursing staff on the 7th floor of St. Paul's Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (corner of 8th Street and Broadway Avenue) in Saskatoon with Rev. Father Nestor Gregoire, OMI. Flowers are gratefully declined, in memoriam donations may be made to Saskatoon Canadian Diabetes Association, CancerCare Saskatchewan, or a charity of your choice.
