MURIEL ABIGAIL MCNAMARA (nee VOKEY) December 7, 1924 - March 9, 2015 It is with sadness that we announce that Muriel passed away peacefully on Monday March 9, 2015 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband Malcolm William (Mac) in March 2004. Muriel is survived by her children Carol, Bill (Leslie), Brian and Janice (Norman Funk), 10 grandchildren and four and a half great-grandchildren. Born in St. John's, NL, Muriel left the island when she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where she met Mac. Following the war they settled in Winnipeg to raise their family. Upon retirement they moved to Port Alberni, BC and later to Ottawa, ON where they spent their final years. A private family funeral has taken place and Muriel was laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery alongside Mac. The family would like to thank the staff at Queenswood Villa and The Perley Rideau Veterans Health Center for the excellent care provided to our mother in her final years.
