WARREN RALPH PURDY
Date of Passing: Mar 13, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWARREN RALPH PURDY Warren Purdy departed this life peacefully at Oakview Place in Winnipeg, on Friday, March 13, 2015, at the age of 79. Husband of 50 years to his beloved wife, Georgia Helen (Croft), deceased in 2011; proud and loving father of Alan (Norma) of Winnipeg and Karen (Carver Farrell) of Regina. Cherished and loving "Papa" of Alex James (AJ) and Paige Purdy, and Anika and Ian Farrell. Dear brother of Bruce Purdy (Donna Thain) of Winnipeg, and brother-in-law to Brenda Vopni of Toronto. Warren was giving, caring, generous with his time and always there to help others. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Besides his career at MPI and Birchwood Motors, Warren's great passions were summers at Victoria Beach, his grandchildren, cars, curling, travel and golf. He even scored a hole in one! Warren also knew the secret passage to the blueberry patch. We would like to thank the staff at Oakview Place for all the care, affection and patience they showed as they cared for our father during the past nine months. Thank you also to the staff at Sturgeon Creek II and Heritage Lodge for looking after Dad during the last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Warren's life will be held in the summer.

Warren and Georgia were great travellers and are so missed on our adventures. Always supportive and fun. Who can forget our "gatherings" at the end of a trip - Georgia's well documented scrapbooks, blueberry dessert and Warren's wine! - Posted by: bernice stebbing (travel friend) on: Mar 24, 2015

When I would see Warren, my heart would light up. My Mom, Vernon "Trainor" Lee also had this special place for her Aunt and her children. Possibly this rubbed off on me. The one thing I have learned with time is, you do not have to know why your heart holds love for someone, it is enough to simply love them. We all know this, Warren will be welcomed in heaven by the angels, and a heck of a parcel of folks from our Ateah Tribe. To Warren's Family, prayers from The Lee Family, you are in our prayers ..Michal, Markham and Annette, Patrick and Lynn Lee - Posted by: Ms Michal Lee (Cousin) on: Mar 22, 2015

I'm so tremendously saddened to hear of Warren's passing - 79 is far too young! I feel honored to have worked with Warren for 6 years and loved his dry sense of humour. He was a lovely man who spoke softly and always fondly, of Georgia and was so very proud of both Alan & Karen. The world has lost a true 'one-of a kind'. My sincere sympathies to the family at this very difficult time. - Posted by: Brenda Plohman (Former Co-Worker) on: Mar 16, 2015
