Jack & Carol, Debbie & Morley - I only met your Mom 2 or 3 times, but it was enough to know what kind of person she was: kind, considerate and honest. You, and Etta will be in my thoughts in the weeks ahead. My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Mother. - Posted by: Ginny Brown (Family friend) on: Mar 23, 2015

It is fitting, and a bit eerie, that Etta passed away within a year of my mother, Lil Adelman's passing (July/14). Etta and Lil were lifelong friends, both of them growing up in Regina. They teased each other as teenagers, were attendants at each other's weddings, kept in touch as they raised their families, and joined each other in old age at the Sharon Home. My mother said that Etta was her dearest friend - she often said that they "understood" each other, especially each other's sense of humour. Lil often ran into Etta at the Sharon Home, and was so sad that they were unable to relate as in the past. Mom would hold Etta's hand and speak of memories - Etta would smile back to her. It was a lovely friendship. - Posted by: Francene Adelman (daughter of lil Adelman, Etta's lifelong friend) on: Mar 22, 2015

I am Etta's great-nephew. I was truly saddened to hear of her passing. She was an absolutely wonderful woman, who cared for all and always carried herself with a sense of great decency and dignity. May her memory be a blessing and a comfort. With great admiration and love, David Reiter (Toronto) - Posted by: David Reiter (Great Nephew) on: Mar 18, 2015

Hi my name is Heather, I've known Etta Hyman for a few years and the one thing that I will always remember was her chuckle and her beautiful smile, that brought upon a giggle to follow. Since the short period I've come to be quite fond working as a companion but simply put it never felt as work. I will remember my moments of walks in hot summer days to the near by manmade lake and to enjoy the flowers and conversations to follow. Etta even though you would think she wasn't listening she was. She brought joy and brightness with her presence and will be deeply missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to the whole family. - Posted by: Heather Beattie (Friend/Companion) on: Mar 17, 2015
