ALPHONSINE MARIE MONDOR (née GRENIER) Alphonsine Marie Mondor, born April 30, 1920, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on March 13, 2015, at the Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. She was the eldest of 15 children, all born and raised in St. Labre, MB. At 16 years old, she left the homestead to work in St. Charles to provide financial aid to the Grenier family. She met Jean-Baptiste while working for the Lebrun family and on December 30, 1944 they wed and made their home in Lorette, MB. She was a hard worker, milking cows at the break of dawn and fulfilling her homemaking chores with lots of love and care; she was a wonderful mother. She leaves to mourn her two daughters Eveline Foisy and Lucille Haywood (George), her son Gérard Lebrun (Anita) and her daughter-in-law Eva Lebrun. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Raymond Lebrun (Jeanne), Elaine Defoort, Anne Grossman (Rick), Bertrand Foisy (Carmel), Jonas Haywood (Lindsay), Lynne Haywood, Renée and Monique Lebrun. She was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. Of 14 siblings, Joseph Grenier (Rolande), Alexandrine Gérardy, Paul Grenier (Florence), Laurette Fontaine, Hubert Grenier (Stella), Rosaire Grenier (Jeannette), Esther Gagnon (Louis), Norbert Grenier (Lorraine) and sister-in-law Irène Grenier, and brother-in-law Adélard Tourond remain to mourn her passing. She was predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Marie-Ange (Ross) Grenier, her husband, Jean-Baptiste Lebrun, her sons Marcel and Roland Lebrun, son-in-law Bert Foisy, sisters Clémence, Yvonne, Noëlia, Angeline and Denise, and brother Georges. She was also predeceased by her second and third husbands Alfred Gauthier and Octave Mondor. Alphonsine was the nucleus of the Lebrun family. She instilled in her children and grandchildren that family is important. She showed us that gathering is what keeps us rooted. Thank you for the abundance of love you showed for us and always remember - WE LOVE YOU MORE! Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Notre Dame de Lorette Roman Catholic Church, Lorette, MB with Rev. Fr. Charles Fillion presiding. The eulogy will be recited at 9:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Villa Youville and send a special thank you to Soeur Irène Rioux and Soeur Céline Vermette. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Activity Centre at the Villa Youville, 15 Charrière Rd., Ste. Anne, MB R5H 1C9, phone 204-422-5624.
