STELLA STEWART Our dear Aunt, Stella Stewart, passed away on February 28, 2015 at the age of 87. She is survived by her nieces and their families, Sharon and Wes Poynter of Minneapolis, MN and their son Zac; also by Pam and Scotty Cathcart of Aspen, CO along with their sons Cole (Jenni) and Joey. Her parents, husband John and sister Jean all predeceased her, as did her beloved dog Beau. Stella worked for the T. Eaton Company in the advertising department for 18 years. After which she then worked for the Manitoba Government at the Tax Assistance Office for 17 years. She spoke fondly and with great respect of the directors at Federal Provincial and their staff and also the staff at Tax Assistance Office and how much she enjoyed working with them, as well as the friendships she made. A very special thanks to her dear friend Louise Couper for her many kindnesses and for always being there for our aunt. We are grateful. Thanks also to Arnold, Rene, Jim and Karen, as well as Connie who all made it possible for her to live and enjoy her home for many years as well as for their friendship. Thank you to all the neighbourhood children for their visits and cards which she looked forward to and loved so much. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael West, Dr. Roy Smith and Dr. Adrian Long for their excellent care of our aunt. Auntie Stel was a very caring and giving person. We loved her and will miss her. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place, no service will be held. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Salvation Army in her memory.

Stella was a good hearted woman, she developed a close friendship with my Mother for many years. She came over many times for dinners at our home and was one of the family. When my Father passed she was a comfort to my Mother Lucie. Sadly my Mother passed two weeks after Stella. I'm picturing them having coffee together as they did many times before. Rest in peace Stella, we will miss you. - Posted by: Lou and Pat Fracassi (Friend/neighbor) on: Mar 21, 2015
