Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE (CATE) MARION KYLE January 29, 1962 - March 15, 2015 Cate was born and raised in Winnipeg. After leaving Winnipeg and staying a few years in Banff, Alberta, Cate settled in Vancouver for over 20 years. Cate is survived by her parents, Barb and Bill Kyle; four sisters, Connie (Robert), Joan (Dave), Kim (Howard) and Margaret (Bill); three brothers, David, Geoff (Monica), Colin (Yvonne); and several nieces and nephews. Her network of close friends in Vancouver were also her family. The words of her dear friend say it best: "What I love about Cate....her quiet strength and her gentle spirit. It was because of these qualities that people felt safe to open up to her and it is why they trusted her. She was incredibly loyal. She never gossiped. In her professional life, Cate completely changed her career path to work with many of the most at-risk people in our community. She worked to improve the quality of their lives and to make them feel safer. She sincerely valued and honoured those relationships and she was their fierce advocate. Cate has changed people. She has changed how they think, how they view themselves, and how they view others. She has been a gift and a blessing in the lives of so many people." A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30 at Coal Harbour Community Centre, 480 Broughton Street, Vancouver. A Winnipeg memorial date to be announced. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Cate.
