Esther was born in 1926 in Elmwood and attended Lord Selkirk High School, where she excelled at Track and Field and took part in the provincial championships. After graduation, she attended Success Business College and spent a lot of time at the Winnipeg Roller Rink. Near there, at the Mall Hotel bowling alley, she met the love of her life, Alfred Moore. They were married on November 4, 1950. In addition to raising four children, Esther worked in many different places, including Winnipeg Electric, the Hudson's Bay Company, Eaton's Mail Order, the Canadian Wheat Board, and, finally, the Province of Manitoba. She and Alf retired in 1987 and spent many happy summers at their cottage at Grand Beach. Following Esther's wishes, there will be a private service followed by a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Esther's life.

I lived two blocks away from Esther and family. We shared many fun times visiting each other's homes. Our mothers were sisters and always had lots to talk about while we got into mischief with their dog and bird. Esther was my connection to her family when they had all moved on to their own lives. My sincerest condolences to Alf and the family. - Posted by: Mary-Ann (Bingham) Schwartz (First cousinQI) on: Mar 23, 2015
