  • I first met Ralph in the Wawanesa lunchroom. There was Barry, Mike, Don, and Ralph. Ralph was always a happy guy with a smile on his face, and he welcomed me to come sit with them. An underwriter invited to sit with the adjusters. I spent many coffee-breaks with them. And it was always great to see Ralph at Blue Goose meetings, and other insurance functions; he never failed to come over to greet me, and we'd talk. I'm going to miss him. - Posted by: James Smith (Insurance Friend and previous co-worker) on: Mar 26, 2015

  • I met Ralph at our days working together at Ponderosa Steak house and never a day went by without sharing a laugh with Ralph. I would look forward to working with him as I knew it would be fun. I am sad to say as most friendships do drift apart and the last time I spoke to Ralph was a day he walked into my office some 20 years ago just to say hello. We chatted a bit and his final words were.... "I am going to say goodbye... I am not going to say we should get together because that's so cliché. Cause I know that will probably not happen anytime soon because we are so busy with our families". That was Ralph... no nonsense, to the point, and funny! Our condolences go out to Gail and her family. - Posted by: Tony and Yolanda Rinella (Friend) on: Mar 26, 2015

  • Ralph I never got to tell you some things before the end so I will tell you now. I have known you since I was 12 and you have always been very kind to me. You were so good to my sister Gail it always made me love you so much for loving her. You were a terrific father to my nephews and niece. They have become terrific younh adults and I know how proud you were of them all. You are already sorely missed by so many people but we are celebrating the beautiful human being you were. Kind, generous, patient and loving. Rest in Peace my dear friend. I am sorry I never spoke these words to you face to face. Love David. - Posted by: David Wakeman (Brother-in- Law) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • Our condolences go to Gail, Dustin, Megan and Zach on the loss of Ralph. He was a regular, friendly fixture in our Westwood neighbourhood during our many years there, and a great teammate for a number of years in the old KW slo-pitch league. Having heard of his struggles in recent years, we were excited to see Ralph and Gail at the JTC 50 social last spring. Ralph’s sheer joy to be at the event was all over his beaming, smiling face. That’s the image we will hold on to! - Posted by: Tim and Karen Brown (former neighbours) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • Ralph was my Canadian cousin. I have had many happy holidays with Gail and Ralph, unfortunately he never made it over to England. He was a very quiet and loving family man and will be missed by all his family. My family in England are heartbroken by his passing and Gail, Dustin, Megan and Zach are lovingly in our thoughts. - Posted by: Pauline Morris (Cousin in Law - England) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. I have many happy thoughts and some pictures that have Ralph in them during our time at Red River. Those eyes and awesome smile but most of all how he was a friend to all! This is again an example of "do today what is in your heart as you may not have tomorrow". Through the years I have thought of reconnecting with many friends of that era of my life but have always put it on the back burner. Today I am sad I did not follow thru - Thanks Ralph for being part of the RRC experience, RIP my friend from the past. - Posted by: Mona Daniel (Old RRC friend) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • Tina and I knew Ralph (and Gail) while we attended John Taylor Collegiate. Ralph was one year older than I, but during those high school years his friends became our friends as well. Ralph was one of the most approachable, friendly, non-judgemental and funny person you could ever meet. It was a privilege knowing him. We will miss your friendly banter Ralph. Our thoughts and prayers are with Gail and the family. Till we meet again.. - Posted by: Derek and Tina Bramadat (Friends, John Taylor Piper Alumni) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • Ralph & I met when we worked together as adjusters for the Wawanesa Winnpeg Branch in the early 1980's. We quickly became friends & spent many coffee breaks and lunches together - including at one of his favorite spots - the Garwood Grill. Ralph had a gentle spirit, was full of fun, kindness & humility. He was decidedly a loving husband & father, which was evident when he spoke about his family. Gail, Dustin, Megan and Zach, please accept our deepest sympathy and know you are in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Barry O'Neill (Friend & previous co-worker) on: Mar 25, 2015

  • I first met Ralph in the late '80s when he was a Marketing Rep for Wawanesa Winnipeg Branch and I was Marketing for Wawanesa Prairie Branch. Ralph was one of the good guys....always fun, always knowledgeable and always professional! Ralph will be missed within the Industry but also by all of us because of his friendship. Gail, Dustin, Meaghan and Zach; I am so sorry for your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Barb Raison (Friend Insurance Industry) on: Mar 24, 2015

  • Ralph's family was number one to him and he always spoke with great pride and affection about them. I admired this about him, as well as his easy going manner, his kindness, and his sense of humor. These qualities made him a great adjuster that earned respect from all that dealt with him. He will be remembered. - Posted by: Grace Parsons (Co-worker and friend) on: Mar 23, 2015

  • I had the pleasure of having Ralph as my friend and co-worker for 13+ years. He always made time to chat and listen to everyone. He was my "go to" person. He knew everyone and if you needed to find out how to get something done, he "knew a guy". On top of that I will always miss what he brought to our office. He was always able to find the funny side of anything and many times he made us laugh out loud at what he was saying. His love in life, was his family and going to his beloved cabin. He had a picture on his computer of it and we all knew that if he had his choice, he would love to have been sitting in the veranda having a cup of coffee with his wife Gail. My family got to know him out of work when we would meet at softball games where he coached his daughter Meagan. He was a real family man and he enjoyed the time that he spent with his kids...He really knew what was important in life. Gail and family, please know that he will be missed by many people that he touched. There are some people that touch a lot of people's hearts and he was one of the rare people. - Posted by: Joyce Kuchak (Friend/co-worker) on: Mar 23, 2015
