ARTHUR WINKLER Peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2015 Arthur at the age of 88 years passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Arthur is survived by his beloved wife Frances; son Michael; daughter Pamela; sister-in-law Lillian Pickering; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Lenora; father Ludwig Max; sisters, Mildred, Marguerite, Helen and Mariam; and brothers, Jim, Ed, Eugene and Bob. Arthur was born in Milestone, SK and spent numerous years farming in the area. Following that he worked in the construction industry doing various jobs including paving and seismography. He greatly enjoyed this time spent working in Western Canada. He moved to Winnipeg in the mid 1960s where he met Frances. He was employed with the Winnipeg School Division for 24 years until his retirement in 1991. Arthur enjoyed camping, fishing, auto mechanics and was a great handy man and a do it yourselfer. Arthur will be fondly remembered for his calm, laid back nature and love of animals. Thanks to the staff at Riverview and Cornish 2 for their support. At Arthur's request, cremation has taken place to be followed by a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
